Job Overview: The LANDCOM Internship Programme is designed to provide current students and recent graduates with a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience within an international organization. Interns will engage in various tasks that contribute to the operational effectiveness of LANDCOM, particularly within the Directorate of Management, Protocol and Conference Services. The internship aims to enhance the interns' understanding of NATO's functions and operations while allowing them to develop skills relevant to their academic and professional aspirations. Interns will be involved in planning and executing protocol arrangements for high-level meetings and conferences, thereby gaining firsthand experience in international relations and organizational management.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will assist in all protocol tasks during the planning, preparation, and execution of conferences and VIP visits. They will develop and maintain a Command Group Database, which includes essential contact information for military, political, and social figures. Interns will coordinate incoming visits, manage security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-related issues concerning visitor lists, and escort visitors as needed. They will also coordinate conference room support services, draft military and non-military correspondence, and work as part of project teams or working groups. Additionally, interns will submit maintenance work orders for office and communication equipment and supplies, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and professionally.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must be citizens of NATO member nations and provide a certificate from their university indicating that the internship is necessary for their professional development. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and applicants should have completed at least two years of university study or possess equivalent qualifications. The program is open to current students or recent graduates who have obtained their degree within the last 18 months.
Educational Background: Candidates should have secondary education and basic training in relevant fields such as Tourism and Hotel Management, Public Relations, Business Administration, or International Relations. A strong foundation in these areas will enable interns to effectively contribute to the tasks assigned during their internship.
Experience: Interns are expected to have at least two years of successful university study or equivalent experience. While prior internship experience is not explicitly required, familiarity with international organizations or protocol-related tasks will be beneficial for candidates.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, with a required level of SLP 2222 (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing). Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this position.
Additional Notes: The internship is a six-month program, which can be part of or complementary to a university degree program. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of 52,026.50 TRY to cover their living expenses, while accommodation and work permit arrangements are the responsibility of the selected interns. Travel expenses to and from Türkiye will be reimbursed up to a total of 1200 EUR. Interns must have social insurance coverage, including health care, and must document this during the in-processing phase.
