Job Overview: The analyst" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Administrative Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of various projects under the UN-Habitat framework in Brazil. This position requires close collaboration with operational and technical teams to ensure that project activities are executed efficiently and in accordance with established guidelines. The analyst will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support, facilitating communication with local partners, and ensuring that all project-related documentation is organized and accessible. The role is pivotal in maintaining the operational integrity of the projects and ensuring compliance with UN-Habitat standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Administrative Analyst will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing administrative support for project activities, assisting communication teams in engaging with local governments and civil society, organizing project meetings and documenting outcomes, collecting relevant data and legislation, archiving project documents, managing correspondence and materials, supporting audits and compliance checks, maintaining office inventory, requesting quotes for acquisitions, writing official letters in Portuguese, assisting in recruitment processes, managing consultant reports, organizing events, handling travel requests, and ensuring that project budgets are monitored effectively. The analyst will also be expected to participate in missions as required and complete any training courses mandated by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Administration, Public Management, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with an additional three years of relevant experience beyond the educational requirement will also be considered. A postgraduate degree in Project Management or related fields is desirable. Candidates should have a minimum of four years of experience in administrative, secretarial, project management, operational, or human resources activities, preferably within Brazil. Experience working with local governments or civil society organizations is also desirable, along with familiarity with urban development and climate issues.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Administration, Public Management, or related fields is required. A postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Project Management or related fields is considered an asset. Candidates with additional relevant experience may also qualify for the position.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in administrative, secretarial, project management, operational, or human resources activities. Experience with local governments and civil society advocacy initiatives is highly desirable. Familiarity with urban development and climate issues, as well as previous experience within the UN System, will be advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, along with a working knowledge of English. Knowledge of Spanish is also beneficial, given that it is the working language of the Regional Office. Proficiency in English and French is essential for communication within the United Nations Secretariat.
Additional Notes: The contract is for a duration of ten months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funds. The position is local, and only nationals from Brazil or candidates with a permanent visa in Brazil may apply. The position offers a remuneration package that includes health insurance through Cigna and follows the UNOPS Salary Scale.
