Job Overview:
The position of Referendar*in at GIZ in Cambodia involves supporting the organization in addressing a wide range of local, German, and international legal issues. The role requires the candidate to assist in internal meetings and external appointments, handling suitable inquiries independently while maintaining direct contact with GIZ projects and their local and international partners. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Referendar*in include supporting the GIZ team in providing policy advice to local partners aimed at improving legal and operational conditions. This involves preparing for and following up on policy dialogues to draft recommendations for adapting legal and operational frameworks, particularly in areas such as climate-resilient agricultural systems, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, decent work, and responsible supply chains. Additionally, the candidate will assist the GIZ office with legal inquiries, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in law (Diplom-Jurist or equivalent) or a relevant qualification, and must be currently enrolled in a legal internship (Referendariat). Strong conceptual and analytical skills are essential, along with high advisory competence, quick comprehension, and an ability to focus on key issues. The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment, teamwork, reliability, intercultural and political sensitivity, diplomatic skills, and a confident demeanor.

Educational Background:
A law degree (Diplom-Jurist) or a relevant qualification is required for this position. Candidates should be in the process of completing their legal internship (Referendariat), which is a prerequisite for applying to this role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to be currently engaged in their legal internship (Referendariat). While prior experience in international law or development cooperation is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The focus is on candidates who are eager to learn and contribute to the GIZ's mission in Cambodia.

Languages:
Fluency in both German and English is mandatory for this position, as the candidate will be required to communicate effectively in both languages. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
