Job Overview: The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for ActionAid Cambodia will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and overall management of the organization in Cambodia. This role involves ensuring that ActionAid's mission and values are upheld while implementing programs that address the needs of the most marginalized communities. The Country Director will work closely with local partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote social justice and sustainable development. The Country Director will also be expected to represent ActionAid at national and international forums, ensuring that the organization's voice is heard in discussions related to poverty and human rights.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for ActionAid Cambodia, ensuring alignment with the global strategy and local needs.
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and projects, ensuring they are effective and impactful.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, government officials, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for ActionAid's initiatives.
Lead fundraising efforts to secure resources for programs and operations, including developing proposals and engaging with donors.
Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, as well as ActionAid's policies and procedures.
Manage and mentor staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages professional development.
Represent ActionAid Cambodia in national and international forums, advocating for the rights of marginalized communities and promoting the organization's mission.
Monitor and report on the progress of programs and initiatives, using data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in senior management roles within the non-profit sector, preferably in international development or humanitarian work.
Strong understanding of the socio-political context in Cambodia and the challenges faced by marginalized communities.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and programs that achieve measurable results.
Strong fundraising and resource mobilization skills, with experience in engaging with donors and securing funding.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as international development, social sciences, or public administration is required. Additional qualifications in management or leadership training are advantageous.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector, with at least 5 years in a senior management position. Experience working in Cambodia or similar contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Khmer or other local languages is an advantage but not required.
