Portfolio Senior Manager - Recovery, Preparedness and Mine Action Unit

Job Overview:
The Portfolio Senior Manager will lead a strategic and impactful portfolio that focuses on recovery, preparedness, and mine action initiatives. This position is crucial for shaping large-scale programs that aim to enhance institutional capacity and deliver sustainable solutions in a dynamic, post-conflict environment. The role involves engaging with key stakeholders, including national and international partners, as well as donor organizations, to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives that address the needs of affected communities. The manager will be responsible for developing strategies that align with the organization's mission and objectives, ensuring that programs are effectively designed and executed to meet the challenges of recovery and preparedness in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of recovery, preparedness, and mine action programs in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
• Engage with national and international stakeholders to foster partnerships and collaboration.
• Oversee the strategic planning and execution of initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Monitor and evaluate program performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Prepare and present reports on program progress to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality program delivery.
• Identify funding opportunities and prepare proposals to secure resources for program initiatives.
• Advocate for policies and practices that enhance recovery and preparedness efforts in the region.
• Stay informed about developments in mine action and recovery strategies to inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in program management, particularly in recovery, preparedness, or mine action initiatives.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and foster collaboration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans effectively.
• Knowledge of the political, social, and economic context of Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
• Familiarity with donor requirements and funding mechanisms related to recovery and preparedness programs.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in a relevant field such as international relations, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications in project management or specialized training in mine action and recovery strategies would be advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in program management, with a focus on recovery, preparedness, or mine action initiatives. Experience working in post-conflict environments and engaging with international organizations and donors is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance program effectiveness. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region would be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified at the senior level (ICS 11) and is offered on an open-ended contract basis, subject to organizational requirements and availability of funds. The role is full-time and may involve travel within the region to oversee program implementation and engage with stakeholders.
