Job Overview:
The Digital Fundraising Specialist will play a crucial role in leading the development and implementation of UN Women’s global digital fundraising strategy. This position involves managing annual campaigns such as International Women’s Day and 16 Days of Activism, as well as ongoing digital fundraising efforts. The specialist will oversee the performance analytics of fundraising campaigns, manage relationships with digital fundraising agencies, and provide strategic support to various UN Women offices. The goal is to increase unrestricted revenue and enhance the organization’s digital fundraising capabilities, ensuring effective engagement with individual donors and maximizing the impact of fundraising initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead efforts to raise Regular Resource revenue online through UN Women’s Global Giving Platform, focusing on successful campaigns for International Women’s Day and year-end giving.
  • Manage emergency fundraising campaigns during humanitarian crises, ensuring quick and effective responses.
  • Develop a global strategy to enhance digital fundraising capabilities among National Committees and Country Offices, including capacity building and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance and strength of digital fundraising strategies in National Committees’ Joint Partner Plans.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting on digital fundraising metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and inform strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize digital fundraising efforts and ensure the sustainability of initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in public relations, marketing, advertising, business administration, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Additionally, candidates should have strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills. A comprehensive understanding of digital fundraising techniques, including email marketing and social media, is essential.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field is required for this position. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be considered. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training in public relations, marketing, or business administration, emphasizing digital strategies and fundraising techniques.

Experience:
At least 7 years of professional experience in digital commercial marketing or private sector fundraising is required, particularly in digital fundraising. Candidates should have experience in international development or donor aid programs, and a proven track record of working with large NGOs or UN bodies to achieve significant income growth through digital fundraising. Experience in commercial marketing with a focus on digital strategies for leading brands is an asset, as is experience working with digital suppliers and agencies.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
