Job Overview:
The Private Sector Analyst position at UN Women is crucial for supporting the implementation of the Surging Women’s Employment Flagship Initiative (SWEI) in Morocco. This role focuses on enhancing women's economic empowerment by fostering partnerships with the private sector and promoting gender-responsive workplaces. The analyst will work closely with the UN Women Morocco country office and the Regional Private Sector Specialist to ensure effective management and implementation of the initiative. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for women's employment in priority sectors, contributing to the development of program strategies, and supporting the planning and monitoring of SWEI activities. The analyst will also play a key role in engaging with Moroccan companies to implement Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and will be responsible for documenting progress and success stories related to women's employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Private Sector Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Advancing the Women’s Economic Empowerment portfolio by providing technical support for program strategies and project proposals.
  • Supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of SWEI activities in Morocco, including developing annual workplans and budgets.
  • Engaging with the private sector to implement the SWEI Private Sector Initiative, providing technical support to companies on WEPs Principles, conducting assessments, and developing gender action plans.
  • Monitoring and reporting on program activities, preparing updates, and documenting case studies and success stories.
  • Supporting financial and operational management of the SWEI program, including monitoring expenditures and providing inputs to financial reports.
  • Strengthening partnerships for women’s employment by updating resource mobilization strategies and engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Organizing advocacy events and training sessions for private sector actors, identifying capacity-building needs, and contributing to knowledge products and communication materials.
  • Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, social sciences, international development, human rights, gender studies, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, knowledge of employment in the private sector, and the ability to gather and interpret data effectively.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as business administration, management, finance, social sciences, international development, human rights, or gender studies. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is a plus, indicating a formal recognition of skills in managing projects effectively.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building. Experience in providing advisory services to the private sector, particularly regarding recruitment practices focused on diversity and inclusion, is desirable. Familiarity with women's economic empowerment issues and stakeholders in Morocco or the Arab States is essential. Experience in capacity building for government stakeholders and private sector partners is also beneficial, as is experience in liaising with government agencies and donors.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, is desirable, as it would enhance communication and engagement with a broader range of stakeholders in the region.
