Job Overview:
The Operations Associate - Field Support position is designed to provide essential support to IOM's operations in the field. The role involves coordinating logistics, managing resources, and ensuring that operational activities align with IOM's strategic objectives. The Operations Associate will work closely with various teams to facilitate the implementation of projects, ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic work environment. The Operations Associate will also be responsible for maintaining communication with stakeholders and ensuring that all operational processes comply with IOM's policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of operational activities in the field, ensuring alignment with IOM's objectives.
  • Coordinate logistics for project activities, including transportation, accommodation, and procurement of supplies.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of operational activities, identifying any challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of resources and expenditures related to field operations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.
  • Support the development of project proposals and reports, providing input on operational aspects.
  • Ensure compliance with IOM's policies and procedures in all operational activities.
  • Participate in training and capacity-building initiatives for staff and partners involved in field operations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of migration issues and IOM's work would be an asset.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, international relations, social sciences, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in project management or logistics would be advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in operations, logistics, or project management is required. Experience working in an international organization or in the field of migration is preferred. Familiarity with IOM's policies and procedures would be a significant advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic or other languages spoken in the region would be considered an asset.
