Job Overview:
The ET Consultant position is situated within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) of the World Bank Group. This role is crucial for enabling the organization to achieve its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity through the delivery of transformative information and technologies. The ITS VPU supports staff across over 150 locations, ensuring that the World Bank Group operates seamlessly and is prepared for future challenges. The Corporate Solutions Department (ITSCO) focuses on the digital transformation of essential corporate services, linking business ambitions with operational excellence. The role involves working on high-impact corporate platforms that enhance employee experiences and streamline operations, making it vital for the organization’s success.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ET Consultant will be responsible for mobile development, which includes designing, building, and integrating mobile applications with enterprise backend systems, APIs, and workflow platforms. The consultant must ensure performance, scalability, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security across mobile platforms, including optimizing for low-bandwidth environments. Responsibilities also include implementing robust integration patterns, diagnosing and resolving issues across mobile and backend layers, and collaborating with Agile teams to align mobile solutions with product roadmaps. Additionally, the consultant will design and develop agentic AI solutions, build AI-powered applications using hyperscaler AI platforms, and architect end-to-end AI systems. The role requires continuous improvement of code quality, testing, and deployment practices, as well as operationalizing AI agents through CI/CD integration and observability frameworks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong experience in mobile application development, particularly on the Java platform for Android/iOS and hybrid apps, is essential. Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and collaborative product development is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to deliver high-performance, scalable applications and have expertise in API integration and enterprise backend connectivity. A strong understanding of security standards and experience developing for global environments are also necessary.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience. This educational background should be complemented by practical experience in mobile application development and AI frameworks, ensuring that candidates are well-equipped to handle the technical demands of the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a significant level of experience, specifically 5 years with a Master's degree or 7 years with a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields. This experience should include hands-on work in mobile application development, Agile methodologies, and AI solutions, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable applications in diverse environments.
