The Transport Specialist- Modelling position at the World Bank is designed for an individual who will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization's transport modeling and data analytics capabilities. The Transport Specialist will also be expected to prepare visualizations and communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders, ensuring that the WBG's transport analytical capabilities remain robust and relevant for operational and advisory purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Transport Modeling Specialist will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: designing and maintaining the WBG's transport models and analytical tools; working with multi-layered datasets to ensure the accuracy and relevance of transport analyses; conducting advanced analyses for transport corridor diagnostics, urban mobility assessments, and freight movement evaluations; developing accessibility models to estimate access to jobs and services; supporting geospatial analysis for investment prioritization; preparing briefs, maps, and dashboards to communicate findings; analyzing infrastructure vulnerability and climate risks; integrating transport network data with climate information; supporting electric vehicle modeling activities; and developing training materials for WBG models and tools. The role requires strong leadership in transport modeling and data analytics, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of specialists.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Transport Specialist- Modelling position must possess a master's degree or higher in civil engineering, transport engineering, economics, geospatial science, data science, or related fields. They should have at least five years of relevant professional experience in transport sector data modeling and analytics, including the development and application of geospatial tools. Demonstrated experience in developing and applying the World Bank's global transport models, conducting geospatial analysis, and programming is essential. Candidates should also have strong analytical skills, particularly in economic and financial analysis of transport investments, and advanced knowledge of statistical software and GIS tools. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work under tight deadlines are crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a master's degree or higher in fields such as civil engineering, transport engineering, economics, geospatial science, data science, or other related disciplines.
