Job Overview: The Engineering Supervisor position at the World Bank Group is a critical role responsible for overseeing all plant operations within the Bank's Headquarters Campus in Washington, DC. This position is essential for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of engineering systems that support the organization's facilities. The incumbent will lead a team of engineers and maintenance staff, ensuring that all planned preventive maintenance programs are executed effectively and that emergency repairs are handled promptly. The role requires a proactive approach to managing the engineering systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining a safe and functional environment for all building occupants. The Engineering Supervisor will work closely with various stakeholders, including project managers and building managers, to ensure that all engineering operations align with the World Bank Group's mission and operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: ensuring the uninterrupted operation of engineering systems, developing and implementing an annual preventive maintenance program, reviewing construction plans for quality control, coordinating with project managers on various projects, assisting in budget development and monitoring expenditures, advising on service interruptions, monitoring service requests, maintaining a client-focused approach, and directing the performance of engineering staff. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing performance evaluations, coaching, and career development guidance to team members, ensuring that all engineering operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Engineering Supervisor position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, candidates should have at least fifteen years of experience in the operation and maintenance of physical plants for large office buildings or similar facilities. A 3rd Class DC Steam Engineer's license or equivalent is required, along with in-depth technical knowledge of mechanical equipment and control systems. Proven supervisory skills, the ability to work in a diverse environment, and effective communication skills are also essential for this role.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, which may include engineering, facilities management, or a related discipline. The educational background should be complemented by extensive experience in plant operations and maintenance, particularly in large office environments or complex facilities.

Additional Notes: This position is a local recruitment opportunity with a term duration of three years. The Engineering Supervisor will work full-time during the evening shift hours of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
