Job Overview:
The Logistics Assistant position is integral to the successful execution of training programs under the United Nations Department of Operational Support's Triangular Partnership Programme (TPP). This role is focused on supporting various training courses aimed at enhancing peacekeeping capabilities, including an Engineering Project Management Course, Heavy Engineering Equipment Training of Trainers course, Explosive Hazard Awareness Training, and a Field Medical Assistant Course. The position requires the Logistics Assistant to ensure that all logistical needs are met efficiently, from maintaining accurate records of project assets to liaising with vendors and partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that training materials are prepared and available, and that all logistical aspects of the training courses are coordinated effectively. This role is critical in ensuring that the training programs run smoothly and that all participants have the necessary resources to succeed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Assistant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: coordinating logistics requirements for all training courses, maintaining comprehensive records of TPP assets and stores, compiling requests for training materials, transport, and fuel, and submitting these requests for approval. The assistant will also provide training support, which includes printing training materials and video recording sessions in collaboration with the training school. Additionally, the role involves assisting with customs processes for the shipment of TPP items from Cambodia to Thailand, establishing working relationships with the Cambodia National Centre for Peacekeeping Force Mine and ERW Clearance, and ensuring effective communication with relevant staff at the training school. The Logistics Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the TPP Team and the Programme representative at the training school, ensuring that all logistical operations are executed efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, such as a technical or vocational certificate in logistics, transportation, supply management, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, contract management, logistics support for training programs, or a related area is required. Knowledge of customs processes for the shipment of goods is considered an advantage, as is previous experience working with the TPP. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification. Candidates with technical or vocational certificates in logistics, transportation, supply management, business administration, or related fields will be considered favorably. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics and supply chain management, which are critical to the role of a Logistics Assistant in a training environment.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in relevant fields such as supply chain management, contract management, or logistics support for training programs. This level of experience is necessary to ensure that the Logistics Assistant can effectively handle the diverse challenges that may arise during the planning and execution of training courses. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing logistics operations and supporting training initiatives, demonstrating their ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Khmer is required for this position, as these are the primary working languages for the role. Additionally, knowledge of French is beneficial, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Proficiency in another official United Nations language is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with a broader range of stakeholders involved in the training programs.

Additional Notes:
The expected duration of the contract for this position is from September 28, 2026, to December 27, 2026, with the possibility of extension for up to one additional month to support potential shipment of TPP items out of Cambodia and closure activities. The position is full-time and involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of training programs.
