Job Overview:
The Investment Officer position is a critical role within the Portfolio Management Division of the Private Sector Operations Department at ADB. This position is client-facing and involves managing a portfolio of debt and guarantees transactions across various sectors, including infrastructure, agribusiness, and social sectors. The Investment Officer will work closely with senior staff to ensure effective credit risk management and maintain strong client relationships. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of both project finance and corporate finance structures, as well as the ability to analyze financial data, monitor project compliance, and propose risk ratings. The Investment Officer will also be responsible for leading disbursement processes, maintaining databases, and assessing the developmental impact of projects, ensuring that ADB's mission to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable development is upheld.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Investment Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Project Monitoring: Analyzing financial data, preparing credit monitoring reports, proposing risk ratings, and ensuring compliance with reporting obligations.
  • Disbursements: Leading the processing of disbursement requests, verifying compliance with conditions, and following up on required documentation.
  • Database Maintenance: Ensuring the completeness and maintenance of databases for legal, financial, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Development Impact: Monitoring development effectiveness and compliance with environmental and social management standards, conducting assessments, and drafting reports.
  • Administrative and Planning Support: Contributing to stakeholder interactions, planning exercises, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related fields, preferably with advanced training. A minimum of 8 years of work experience in corporate finance and/or project finance is required, particularly within leading financial institutions. Candidates should have a deep understanding of credit risk and finance principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively. Experience with large Thai energy sector clients is considered beneficial. The role demands excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Thai, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Advanced training or qualifications in finance or business management are preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the financial sector.

Experience:
The position requires at least 8 years of relevant work experience in corporate finance and/or project finance. Candidates should have experience working with leading financial institutions and possess a strong understanding of credit risk management and financial principles. The ability to multitask and manage various aspects of a portfolio is essential, as is experience in client management and negotiations.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with strong written and verbal communication skills required. Fluency in Thai is also essential, as the role involves interaction with local clients and stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

This position is a local staff appointment, open only to nationals and permanent residents of Thailand.
