Job Overview: The Programme SupportSenior Associate will play a crucial role in providing coordination and administrative support to the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) partnership governance mechanisms. This position involves working under the guidance of the Governance Officer to ensure effective servicing of Partner Committees and Working Groups. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing meetings, compiling materials, maintaining action trackers, and supporting the overall governance framework. The role requires a proactive approach to managing communications, updating website content, and monitoring partnership applications. The Programme Support Senior Associate will also assist in logistics coordination for in-person meetings and contribute to knowledge management initiatives. This position is vital for ensuring that governance mechanisms operate smoothly and effectively, thereby supporting the overarching mission of the RBM partnership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Governance Mechanism Servicing: Organize and service meetings for RBM governance mechanisms, including sending invitations, preparing agendas, and circulating documentation. Compile meeting materials and presentations from various teams and prepare meeting summaries while maintaining action trackers.
Partner & Constituency Engagement: Maintain communication channels and functional mailboxes for governance mechanisms, update website content related to partnership activities, and monitor applications for partnership membership.
Governance and Administrative Support: Coordinate logistics for in-person meetings, workshops, and consultations, providing administrative support for governance-related consultations and engagement processes.
Knowledge Management: Maintain organized electronic records and document repositories, actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the governance framework, and perform additional duties as assigned by the Governance Officer.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A high level of integrity and a commitment to inclusion and partnership are essential. The candidate should demonstrate agility and a solution-focused mindset, with a results-oriented approach to work. Effective communication skills are crucial for engaging with various stakeholders and facilitating collaboration.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international relations, public administration, project management, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications or training in governance, project management, or related areas would be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in administrative support, project coordination, or governance-related roles. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in a UN context, is highly desirable. Familiarity with partnership engagement processes and governance frameworks will be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly French or Arabic, would be considered an asset and advantageous for this role.
Additional Notes: This position is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The role is full-time, and the incumbent will be part of the malicious insurance plan provided for national UN Volunteers.
