Job Overview: The position involves providing operational support to the National Focal Point for the International Year of Volunteers 2026 (IVY 2026) in Guatemala, specifically within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINEX). The role is crucial for the effective functioning of the National Committee, which convenes approximately twice a month. The volunteer will assist in various organizational tasks, ensuring that the committee's activities are well-coordinated and documented. This includes preparing meeting invitations, drafting agendas, taking notes during meetings, and following up on decisions made by the committee. The volunteer will also be responsible for maintaining organized records and facilitating communication among committee members, thereby playing a vital role in promoting volunteerism as a tool for sustainable development in Guatemala.
Duties and Responsibilities: The volunteer will undertake several key responsibilities, including:
Assisting in the preparation and distribution of invitations for committee meetings.
Drafting meeting agendas and providing basic organizational support for these gatherings.
Taking detailed notes during meetings and preparing concise minutes or summaries of discussions.
Following up on agreements and action items established during committee meetings.
Keeping documents, contact lists, and working files organized and accessible.
Facilitating the circulation of information among committee members as needed.
Providing timely support in the preparation of activities or events related to the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026).
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
