Job Overview:
The Service Contract Holder will provide program implementation support to the Social and Human Sciences (SHS) Unit and the Regional Office of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS). This role requires a proactive approach to ensure compliance with HR, Administrative, and Financial rules and regulations of the organization. The position demands high attention to detail and accuracy, as the holder will monitor finance and budgetary aspects of program activities, support procurement actions, and manage contract-related tasks. The holder will also analyze budget and expenditure data, prepare reports, and assist in organizing outreach activities, special events, and training workshops. The role involves maintaining and archiving program documentation, providing general office assistance, and establishing effective working relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate program activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Service Contract Holder will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: monitoring finance and budgetary aspects of program activities to ensure compliance with financial regulations; providing support in procurement actions and contract management; conducting basic program-related budget and expenditure data analysis; collating information and drafting regular and ad hoc budgetary/financial updates; assisting in the preparation of outreach activities, special events, and capacity-building workshops; assessing needs for meetings, events, and workshops; coordinating office support services; maintaining and archiving program documentation; and providing general office assistance such as translation, printing, and dispatching information documents for statutory meetings. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary, provided they align with the primary functions of the role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and/or possess a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, management, education, social sciences, or related fields. They should have a minimum of five years of work experience in integrated service execution and comprehensive process support, preferably in an international environment. Proven experience in providing administrative and logistical support as part of a project team is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organizational and coordination skills, discretion, initiative, and a service-oriented approach to provide quality support and services.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completed secondary education and/or a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields such as business administration, finance, accounting, management, education, social sciences, or related areas. A higher degree in international development is considered desirable.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience, particularly in integrated service execution and comprehensive process support within an international context. Experience in providing administrative and logistical support as part of a project team is also necessary. Additional experience within the UN System or international organizations, as well as conducting research, would be advantageous.

Languages:
Candidates must possess excellent knowledge of English and Thai, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other official UN languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish would be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
The Service Contract is for a duration of 12 months, starting from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with an initial three-month probationary period. The contract may be renewed subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds. The position is open to external candidates, and only those with the right to live and work in Thailand may apply.
