Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst position at UN Women in South Sudan is crucial for the effective management of programs and projects related to Women, Peace, and Security.   • The Programme Analyst will contribute to the operationalization of the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, focusing on enhancing women's participation in decision-making processes, safeguarding their rights, and addressing gender-based violence. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society, and development partners, to ensure successful program implementation and alignment with national and international commitments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: contributing technically to the development of program strategies in Women, Peace, and Security; providing substantive input to program/project proposals; leading the implementation of program activities; coordinating calls for proposals and assessing partners; monitoring the submission of financial and narrative reports from implementing partners; providing technical assistance and capacity development to partners; drafting reports on program results and monitoring missions; supervising program personnel; and supporting resource mobilization strategies. The role also involves developing knowledge products, coordinating advocacy campaigns, and ensuring coherence and alignment of UN Women programs with other partners in the country.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, social sciences, or related fields. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate good knowledge of Women, Peace, and Security, program formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation skills, as well as experience in budget and finance management.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, or social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is a plus, indicating a formal recognition of skills in managing projects effectively.

Experience:
At least one year of progressive responsible experience at the national or international level in managing complex and multi-component program interventions is required, preferably related to Women, Peace, and Security. Candidates should have experience in designing, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring development programs and budgets. Previous experience managing projects under the Peace-Building Fund is advantageous, as is experience in leading and coaching staff in international settings. Proficiency in using computers and office software, as well as web-based management systems, is also required.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within UN Women and with stakeholders. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing the ability to communicate with local partners and communities in South Sudan.
