Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor for Staff Selection 2.0 is crucial for establishing a foundational data and reporting framework that will support the UN's new skills-based recruitment process. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Information and Communications Technology, to ensure that the data and reporting requirements are well-defined and documented. The contractor will be responsible for analyzing existing data structures, identifying gaps, and ensuring that the new recruitment process is aligned with the data needs of the organization. This position is expected to last for three months and will primarily be home-based, allowing for flexibility while still requiring a high level of collaboration and communication with team members and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Individual Contractor will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: studying existing documentation to understand the data structure in the inspira Data Warehouse; coordinating and consolidating data reporting requirements for the new Staff Selection 2.0 process; reviewing the end-to-end recruitment process to identify key data capture points; supporting the design and documentation of data models related to skills taxonomies, job profiles, and candidate data; reviewing changes to the recruitment platform and developing reporting requirements; assessing data implications and ensuring alignment with reporting needs; contributing to the development of standard operating procedures for the data and analysis team; identifying opportunities for streamlining data processes; and extracting data and preparing reports as needed. This comprehensive set of duties ensures that the contractor plays a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for effective data management and reporting within the UN's recruitment framework.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Information Systems, Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) combined with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted. Additionally, a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in data modeling, data management, business analysis, or related roles is required. Candidates should have experience working with data models, data dictionaries, and metadata standards, as well as documenting data field requirements for system builds. Collaboration with operational stakeholders on requirements gathering and defining KPIs and reporting frameworks is also essential. Familiarity with UN enterprise systems such as Umoja and Inspira, as well as experience in HR or recruitment data, is desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Information Systems, Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or Management Information Systems. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) may be accepted if accompanied by additional relevant work experience, demonstrating the importance of both formal education and practical experience in this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in areas such as data modeling, data management, business analysis, and reporting.
