Job Overview: The LMS Technical Support Specialist position is designed to provide effective support for the rollout and adoption of the UN Campus, which is the new enterprise-level Learning Management System (LMS) for the UN Secretariat. This role involves contributing to the development and enhancement of the UN Campus through various activities such as scoping and needs analysis, testing, and feedback collection. The Specialist will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders within the UN Secretariat to ensure a smooth transition and effective use of the LMS. The position requires a proactive approach to liaising with different entities, ensuring that the platform meets the diverse needs of its users, and facilitating a seamless onboarding process for new entities. The Specialist will also be responsible for quality assurance, troubleshooting technical issues, and exploring innovative solutions to enhance the learning experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the LMS Technical Support Specialist include: supporting the development and operationalization of the UN Campus by managing learning content and user access; facilitating the onboarding process for entities; providing training on functional features of the LMS; ensuring platform stability through quality assurance activities; synthesizing feedback from users to inform improvements; testing new features and troubleshooting issues; exploring AI-enabled tools to enhance learning paths; assessing reporting requirements and implementing data solutions; and creating and updating user manuals and best practice guidelines. The Specialist will also perform other related duties as required within the scope of this assignment.
Required Qualifications: The position requires an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in fields such as education, instructional design, organizational psychology, human resources management, business or public administration, or social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) combined with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Additionally, a minimum of two years of relevant experience in managing and supporting Learning Management Systems, particularly Moodle Workplace, is required. Experience in learning and development, especially in training design and delivery, is also desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as education, instructional design, organizational psychology, human resources management, business or public administration, or social sciences. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of relevant work experience.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in managing, administering, and supporting Learning Management Systems, particularly Moodle Workplace. Experience in learning and development, especially in the design and delivery of training programs, is considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's profile and ability to communicate effectively within the diverse UN environment.
