Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Management Specialist plays a crucial role in the implementation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the Umoja ERP system and other supply chain technologies for the UN Secretariat. This position requires the incumbent to provide specialized Tier 2b business operational support and expert functional guidance in SAP-based supply chain management processes. The specialist will be responsible for managing key supply chain information systems, ensuring efficient operations, and providing technical support to users. The role also involves analyzing business requirements, defining configuration changes, and enhancing existing systems to meet operational needs. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders to facilitate communication and ensure effective feedback mechanisms are in place.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Supply Chain Management Specialist include providing specialized advice and operational support to users on Umoja supply chain processes, analyzing business requirements, and defining these into configuration changes or enhancements. The specialist will maintain, upgrade, or enhance existing user systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing user support. Responsibilities also include organizing and performing unit and integrated testing, assisting users in acceptance testing, and facilitating communication between various functional groups. The specialist will manage projects involving feasibility studies, systems analysis, and the development of information systems, ensuring the implementation and continuous improvement of Umoja and other supply chain systems. Additionally, the role involves developing detailed system specifications, user documentation, and training materials, as well as conducting training sessions for staff in Umoja supply chain systems.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in fields such as computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, supply chain management, business administration, or logistics management, along with 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in the same fields with 7 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, experience in business process analysis, and familiarity with SAP systems, particularly in supply chain management and logistics modules.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) preferably in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, supply chain management, business administration, or logistics management. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in these fields is also acceptable if accompanied by additional years of relevant experience. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in both technical and managerial aspects of supply chain management.

Experience:
Relevant experience is defined as experience in planning, design, development, and testing of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in supply chain management or logistics modules. Candidates should have experience as a Functional Expert in SAP, particularly in business process analysis and change management for logistics execution and inventory management systems. Experience in creating and managing Business Requirement Documents (BR) using Solution Manager (SolMan) SAP is also required, along with technical expertise in post-implementation support initiatives for Umoja or similar SAP systems.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders and facilitate training sessions.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as mid-level with an ICS level of 10 and a contract type of Staff - IP - FTA. The contract duration is for one year, renewable based on organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
