Job Overview: The position of Senior Professional in Economic Development and Good Governance involves a significant level of responsibility and requires a comprehensive understanding of economic development strategies and governance principles. The incumbent will be expected to design, manage, monitor, and evaluate projects aimed at enhancing economic development and governance in Tajikistan. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to produce various reports and documents that inform stakeholders about economic and governance issues. The position also involves liaising with government officials, civil society, and private sector stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for initiatives that promote sustainableeconomic growth and good governance. The successful candidate will be expected to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a challenging environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Professional will report directly to the Head of the Economic and Environmental Department and will supervise three General Service posts. Key responsibilities include: designing and managing economic development and governance strategies; ensuring accountability of OSCE funds; monitoring and analyzing economic issues; drafting reports and presentations; organizing meetings and seminars; negotiating with government and private sector partners; developing strategic partnerships; and coordinating with other OSCE structures. The incumbent will also be responsible for producing concise and informative reports, background documents, and situational updates, as well as managing logistical arrangements for events and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in economics, business, public administration, law, finance, or a related field. A second-level university degree (Master’s or equivalent) is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in economic development, public administration, or anti-corruption, with a proven track record of strengthening governance systems. Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to produce high-quality reports and documents. Candidates should also demonstrate political sensitivity and judgment, as well as a commitment to gender awareness and sensitivity in their work.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a first-level university degree in a relevant field such as economics, business, public administration, law, or finance. A second-level university degree is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role. The educational qualifications should provide a solid foundation for understanding economic development strategies and governance principles, which are critical for the successful execution of the responsibilities associated with this position.
Experience: Candidates are expected to have a minimum of six years of relevant professional-level experience.
