Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include:
  • Reviewing the SSR Strategy and NSC Act 2025 documents to understand their content and context.
  • Translating the documents into local languages, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Simplifying complex legal and technical language to make it understandable for the general public.
  • Translating the documents into Braille to ensure accessibility for visually impaired individuals.
  • Engaging with local communities and stakeholders to gather feedback and insights on the translations.
  • Conducting workshops or focus groups to discuss the translated materials and gather further input.
  • Ensuring that all translations are culturally appropriate and sensitive to local customs and norms.
  • Submitting drafts and final versions of the translations within the specified deadlines.
  • Collaborating with UNDP staff and other consultants as necessary to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the translations.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • Proven experience in translation and simplification of legal or technical documents.
  • Strong command of both the source language (likely English) and the target local languages.
  • Familiarity with the content of security sector reform and national security legislation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in both languages.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in translation, particularly in legal or governmental contexts. Languages:
