Job Overview: The Technical Process Specialist in Monitoring and Evaluation will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning and implementation of activities aimed at promoting sustainable development in pepper cultivation and agroforestry systems. This position is integral to the project 'Strengthening Climate Change Resilience through the Adoption of Agroforestry and Sustainable Forest Management Models in Colombia,' which is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The specialist will work closely with the project team to enhance forest governance, support ecosystem restoration, and ensure the sustainable use of natural resources. The role requires effective communication and coordination with both FAO and KOICA to achieve project outcomes aligned with the strategic goal of promoting sustainable production through increased forest cover. The specialist will also be responsible for developing a knowledge management strategy and ensuring compliance with monitoring and evaluation indicators, thereby contributing to the overall success of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Process Specialist include designing a knowledge management strategy for the project, supporting the monitoring of compliance with results and impact indicators, organizing and processing project information, and submitting detailed work plans. The specialist will assist in the design and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation plan, oversee information gathering efforts, analyze project impact, and prepare regular monitoring and evaluation reports. Additionally, the specialist will participate in coordination meetings, support the project evaluation process, and promote good gender practices in accordance with FAO's policies. The role also involves facilitating communication between FAO and KOICA, managing field visits, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree from a recognized institution in systems engineering, industrial engineering, agro-industrial engineering, agricultural sciences, economics, administration, or related disciplines. Those with a bachelor's degree must have two additional years of relevant professional experience. A minimum of three years of experience in rural development program/project operations and evaluations, particularly with KOICA-funded projects, is required.
