Job Overview:
The National Expert on Rubber Production and Plant Protection will play a crucial role in providing technical support and field supervision to improve plantation health and productivity in the smallholder rubber sector. Duties and Responsibilities:

They will support ongoing Integrated Disease Management (IDM) activities for major diseases such as Circular Leaf Spot Disease (CLSD) and root diseases. Additionally, the expert will assist with Plant Nutrient Management activities, conduct training sessions and workshops for Technical staff, Rubber Extension Officers of RRISL, and Rubber Development Officers. They will also provide assistance to technical staff and extension officers regarding pest, disease, and nutrient management matters. Monitoring field progress, preparing reports, and providing feedback to the Project Management Unit (PMU) will also be key responsibilities of this role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Biological Sciences or Agriculture, with a preference for a PhD or MSc. A minimum of 5 years of experience in rubber agronomy and pest/disease management is required. Additionally, candidates should have a working knowledge of English and Sinhala. It is essential that applicants are nationals of Sri Lanka or residents of the country with a valid work permit.

Educational Background:
The position requires a university degree in Biological Sciences or Agriculture, with advanced degrees (PhD or MSc) being highly desirable. This educational background ensures that the candidate has a solid foundation in the scientific principles related to rubber cultivation and plant protection.

Experience:
