Job Overview:
The Driver position at FAO involves providing essential transportation services for staff members and official visitors, ensuring the safety and technical soundness of the vehicles assigned. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive logs of trips, managing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring compliance with organizational and local regulations. This role is crucial for facilitating the operational needs of FAO in Ukraine, particularly in supporting humanitarian and agricultural development efforts. The Driver will work closely with the Head of Office and other administrative personnel, contributing to the overall mission of FAO in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's duties include providing official transportation services for FAO staff and visitors, maintaining vehicle logs, ensuring vehicle maintenance and cleanliness, managing documentation and compliance with safety regulations, and providing logistical support for field missions. Specific tasks involve meeting and assisting staff at transportation hubs, facilitating customs and administrative procedures, conducting regular vehicle inspections, and adhering to all driving regulations. The Driver will also be responsible for collecting and delivering correspondence and official documents, assisting with travel authorizations, and accompanying FAO experts during field missions as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a valid Ukrainian driver’s license (B, C1, or C category). A minimum of three years of work experience as a driver, preferably with a UN or NGO, is required. Fluency in Russian and Ukrainian is mandatory, and candidates must be nationals of Ukraine. Additional qualifications include a safe driving record, knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and skills in minor vehicle repairs. Intermediate knowledge of English is considered an advantage, along with a high degree of punctuality and reliability.

Educational Background:
While secondary education is the minimum requirement, a university education is considered an asset for this position. Candidates must have their educational qualifications recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED) to be considered for employment.

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of relevant work experience as a driver, ideally within a UN or NGO context. Experience in managing vehicle maintenance and compliance with safety regulations is also essential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of local driving conditions and regulations.

Languages:
Fluency in Russian and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position. Intermediate knowledge of English is advantageous but not required. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both Ukrainian and Russian to fulfill the role's responsibilities.

This position is full-time and based in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. FAO emphasizes a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
