Job Overview: The LogisticsSupport Officer will provide support to the logistics and program teams implementing Action contre la Faim projects from various ACF bases in Chad. The role involves ensuring the proper functioning of the supply chain according to ACF standards, participating in logistics project management, strengthening team capacities through training, assisting bases in stock and asset management, and implementing recommendations from internal and external audits. The position is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring that logistical support aligns with the organization's humanitarian mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Support Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
Providing logistical support to ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain in accordance with ACF standards.
Participating in the management of logistics projects, ensuring that all activities are executed effectively and efficiently.
Strengthening the capacities of logistics teams by providing training and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Assisting in the management of stocks and assets at various bases, ensuring proper inventory control and reporting.
Participating in the implementation of recommendations from internal and external audits to improve logistics processes.
Collaborating with other departments to ensure that logistical needs are met in a timely manner.
Engaging in field visits to assess logistical operations and provide on-ground support as needed.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to logistics activities and reporting on progress to management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a BAC+3 level diploma in logistics management of activities and programs, along with significant experience in procurement, particularly in managing tenders and purchasing procedures. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required, preferably within an NGO and in emergency humanitarian contexts. Previous experience with Action contre la Faim is highly desirable. Candidates should also demonstrate a proven ability to support logistical and operational bases effectively, with a strong capacity to operate in complex environments.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a minimum educational qualification of a BAC+3 degree in logistics management or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform the duties associated with the Logistics Support Officer position.
Experience: The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in logistics or supply chain management, particularly in a humanitarian context. Candidates should have a track record of working in similar roles, demonstrating their ability to handle the complexities and challenges associated with logistics in emergency situations. Experience in an NGO setting is preferred, and familiarity with ACF's operations would be an advantage.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is essential for effective communication within the organization and with external partners. The gross monthly salary ranges from 2130 to 2475 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th-month salary. Non-French citizens will receive a retirement insurance reimbursement of 16% of their gross monthly salary. There is a 6% increase in the base salary every 12 months of continuous contract. Additional benefits include a per diem and monthly living expenses of 838 euros net, a monthly context allowance of 450 euros, and a child allowance of 1500 euros per year per child present in the home country (with a ceiling of 6000 euros per year). Transport and accommodation are provided, along with comprehensive medical coverage, including health insurance and repatriation costs. The contract also includes provisions for salary maintenance during illness, maternity, and paternity leave, as well as 25 days of annual leave and 20 rest and recuperation days per year.
