Job Overview: The position of Chargé(e) de Programme expérimenté(e) at WFP involves coordinating and supervising the implementation of climate and resilience portfolios, including interventions funded by the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) and related programs. The role requires providing technical support and programmatic guidance to ensure the coherent, strategic, and operational integration of activities in synergy with other projects. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating project results, coordinating the production of reports for donors, and contributing to the documentation and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned. This position is crucial for enhancing evidence-based approaches in support of monitoring, evaluation, and impact generation functions in collaboration with the Research, Assessment, and Monitoring (RAM) unit.
Duties and Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include supporting the organization and coordination of the partner selection process, contributing to the analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">technical analysis of proposals based on logical frameworks, and regularly monitoring cooperating partners and their activities. The incumbent will ensure close coordination with the RAM team and program teams throughout all phases of studies, including research protocol design, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation of results. Additionally, the role involves supporting the RAM team in generating evidence of the impact of climate and resilience interventions, contributing to the strengthening of the monitoring and evaluation system for resilience projects, and ensuring alignment with WFP's results frameworks. The position also entails following up on the implementation of integrated resilience and climate change adaptation programs, promoting synergies between different funding sources, and ensuring the integration of conflict-sensitive and climate-sensitive approaches in field activities. The incumbent will provide technical support to field offices and partners in implementing activities, contribute to capacity building of partners regarding climate, resilience, and conflict-sensitive approaches, and assist in budget monitoring and financial management of climate and resilience interventions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in the field of resilience. Experience in implementing technical programs, such as nutrition, is essential. The candidate should have a background in program implementation and have contributed to operational design. Additionally, experience in policy discussions and decision-making processes is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Educational Background: A higher university degree in international affairs, economics, nutrition/health, agriculture, environmental sciences, social sciences, or another relevant field for international development assistance is required. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with additional years of relevant professional experience and/or training courses may be accepted.
Experience: The position requires at least one year of relevant professional experience in resilience-related fields. Candidates should have practical experience in implementing technical programs and contributing to operational design, as well as involvement in policy discussions and decision-making processes.
Languages: Fluency in French (level C) is mandatory. Knowledge of the local Arabic dialect is considered an asset, enhancing communication and engagement with local communities.
