Job Overview: The Ethics & Conformity Manager will operate under the authority of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and the functional authority of the Ethic and Conformity Regional expert. The primary role of this position is to ensure that internal practices conform to established standards and to promote good internal control practices throughout the organization. This role is crucial for the success of external audits and involves active participation in training sessions focused on internal control and conformity issues. The manager will also be responsible for following up on recommendations and managing any reported abuses. Given the current expansion of team and geographic operations, the manager will face challenges related to structuring and capacity building within the team. The position is newly created, indicating a significant opportunity for impact and development within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Ethics & Conformity Manager will have a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Verifying the conformity of internal practices with established standards and regulations.
Participating in the dissemination of good internal control practices across the organization.
Contributing to the success of external audits by ensuring that all necessary documentation and practices are in place.
Conducting training sessions on internal control and conformity issues for staff members.
Supporting the mission in following up on recommendations made during audits and managing any reported abuses.
Collaborating with base PSEAH focal points to raise awareness and provide induction training for new national staff on PSEAH (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment).
Managing the field archiving system to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
Preparing for anticipated spot checks and audits from funding bodies such as SHF.
Engaging with the team to build capacity and structure as operations expand.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as Accounting or Audit. Additionally, a minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with at least three years in a similar position. Strong technical skills in audit, compliance, archiving, and PSEAH within the NGO sector are essential. Candidates should also have experience in preparing and facilitating training sessions, as well as proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent reporting and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to uphold humanitarian principles and SI policies.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Accounting or Audit. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of compliance and internal control within the humanitarian sector, as well as for effectively managing audits and training staff.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in roles related to audit and compliance. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of experience in a similar position, demonstrating a solid understanding of the challenges and requirements of ensuring conformity within an NGO context.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of Arabic is considered a strong asset, as it may facilitate better communication with local staff and communities in Sudan.

The role is based in N'Djamena, where the living conditions are relatively comfortable, with access to shared accommodation, electricity, and internet. The salary for this position starts at EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of breaks, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates are also provided with a comprehensive insurance package that covers healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs.
