Job Overview:
The Conformity, Risk and Transparency Coordinator will work under the authority of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and the functional authority of the Internal Audit Referent at headquarters. The primary role is to verify the conformity of internal practices and ensure the dissemination of good internal control practices. This position is crucial for the success of external audits and the implementation of internal control recommendations. The Coordinator will also play a significant role in preventing and addressing abuses and establishing risk management within the organization. As the main point of contact for the head office regarding audits, archiving, and internal procedures, the Coordinator will face challenges such as expanding team operations and the need for structuring and capacity building. The first two to three months will focus on managing field archiving systems, preparing for anticipated audits, and collaborating with base PSEAH focal points to raise awareness among new national staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Verify compliance with internal practices and ensure adherence to good internal control practices.
  • Actively contribute to the success of external audits and ensure implementation of internal control recommendations.
  • Prevent and address abuses within the organization.
  • Establish and manage risk management protocols.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the head office regarding audits, archiving, and internal procedures.
  • Follow up on the field archiving management system.
  • Prepare for SHF anticipated spot checks and audits.
  • Support and collaborate with base PSEAH focal points to raise awareness and train new national staff on PSEAH.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols, especially in volatile regions such as Sudan.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as Accounting or Audit.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong expertise in Audit, Compliance, Archiving, and PSEAH within the NGO sector.
  • Proven experience in preparing and facilitating trainings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills.
  • Ability to enforce respect for humanitarian principles and SI policies.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Accounting or Audit, to qualify for this position. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of compliance and risk management in humanitarian operations.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration of experience in a role focused on compliance, auditing, or risk management. This level of experience is crucial for effectively managing the responsibilities associated with the position and ensuring adherence to internal control practices.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset, enhancing communication and operational effectiveness in the region.

Additional Notes:
The position is a short-term contract with a duration of 6 months, starting on July 15th. The role is based in N'Djamena, where the living conditions include shared accommodation with 24/7 electricity and internet access. The salary starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. The organization implements a break system, allowing for time off every three months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. Expatriates are offered a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations.
