Job Overview: The Climate Change Information and Knowledge ManagementAnalyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Climate Change Information and Knowledge Management Portal (CCIKMP) in Moldova. This position involves ensuring the continuous relevance, functionality, visibility, and strategic use of the portal as the central national digital platform for climate information, coordination, and decision support. The Analyst will be responsible for systematic content updating, knowledge product development, stakeholder engagement, and data integration to enhance the portal's role as a one-stop shop for all climate-related information and services. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining the portal's content, ensuring it meets national and international communication standards, and effectively supports evidence-based decision-making and climate action implementation in Moldova.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Content Updating and Knowledge Management: Systematically update all sections of the CCIKMP, develop and maintain up-to-date information on national and sectoral climate change adaptation and mitigation measures, and ensure clarity and accessibility for all user groups.
Knowledge Product Development and Visibility: Create high-quality, user-friendly knowledge products, transform technical reports into accessible formats, and promote the portal's visibility through social media and stakeholder engagement.
Support for the National Climate Change Commission: Facilitate the publication of NCCC decisions and support the Secretariat in using the portal for coordination and transparency.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Quality Assurance: Ensure quality control of all content, align with national climate reporting processes, and engage stakeholders to validate and update information. The goal is to ensure that the CCIKMP functions as an authoritative national hub for climate information, enhancing transparency and public access to climate data.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a minimum education of an advanced university degree (Master’s Degree) in ICT, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Public Administration, Economy, Communication, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s Degree) with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be considered. Applicants with a Master’s degree are not required to have professional work experience, while those with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least two years of documented professional experience in managing datasets and information from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and reliability for digital platforms.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s Degree) in relevant fields such as ICT, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Public Administration, Economy, or Communication. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s Degree) combined with two years of relevant experience will also be accepted. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of climate data management and knowledge systems.
Experience: The position requires varying levels of experience based on educational qualifications. Applicants with a Master’s degree are not required to have prior work experience, while those with a Bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. This experience should include collecting, structuring, and managing datasets, ensuring data quality, and working with public institutions or donor-funded projects.
Languages: Fluency in Romanian and English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of one or more other languages relevant to Moldova, such as Bulgarian, Gagauzian, Romani, Russian, Ukrainian, or sign language, is considered an asset. This multilingual capability is important for effective communication and stakeholder engagement in a diverse context.
Additional Notes: The position is expected to be full-time, and the Analyst will work under the supervision of the Project Manager and the Climate Change, Environment and Energy Programme Lead. The role involves close cooperation with the State Hydrometeorological Service and other relevant authorities.
