Job Overview: The Resource Mobilization and Partnership Analyst plays a crucial role in strengthening UNFPA's resource mobilization and strategic partnership efforts at the country level. This position involves contributing to donor mapping, developing partnerships, preparing proposals, and ensuring quality assurance for donor reporting. The incumbent will facilitate coordinated engagement with both public and private partners, aiming to expand the donor base and promote knowledge sharing and capacity development. The analyst will report directly to the UNFPA Representative of Moldova CO, and will be instrumental in supporting the overall efforts to build donor engagement and strategic partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Resource Mobilization and Partnership Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: coordinating the implementation of UNFPA Moldova's resource mobilization portfolio across humanitarian and development funding streams; conducting research and analysis on the donor landscape; supporting the facilitation of annual resource mobilization and strategic partnership target setting; maintaining and utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for donor engagement tracking; leading the coordination and quality assurance of donor proposals and funding submissions; supporting skills and capacity development in grant management and project cycle implementation; reviewing proposals and donor reports as part of the quality assurance mechanism; providing support for grant management and tracking; producing analytical reports and progress updates; coordinating donor and country support missions; and maintaining comprehensive records of partnerships and engagement processes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in development-related disciplines, political science, international relations, business administration, or other social sciences. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in national or international development, public relations, resource mobilization, partnership, and diplomacy is required. Candidates should have a proven track record in inter-agency partnerships and cooperation, familiarity with UNFPA's mandate and programs, and strong writing and communication skills. Technical skills in developing concept notes, project proposals, and reporting are essential, along with familiarity with thematic areas such as reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence, and human rights-based approaches.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in development-related disciplines, political science, international relations, business administration, or other social sciences is required for this position. This educational background is crucial as it provides the necessary theoretical framework and understanding of the complex issues related to resource mobilization and partnerships in the context of international development and humanitarian efforts.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in national or international development, public relations, resource mobilization, partnership, and diplomacy. Candidates should have relevant work experience with the UN, bilateral and multilateral partners, and non-governmental organizations. Familiarity with inter-agency partnerships and cooperation, as well as experience in developing concept notes and project proposals, is essential for success in this role.
Languages: Fluency in English and Romanian is mandatory for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of one or more additional languages relevant to Moldova, such as Russian, Bulgarian, Gagauzian, Romani, Ukrainian, or sign language, is considered an asset. Proficiency in multiple languages will enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and partners, which is vital for effective resource mobilization and partnership building.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and offers a fixed-term contract for one year, with the possibility of renewal.
