Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst on Youth plays a crucial role in analyzing and assessing political, social, and economic trends that impact UNFPA's programs. The analyst will work closely with the UNFPA Assistant Representative and will be responsible for contributing to project formulation, evaluation, and the implementation of national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst will also assist in monitoring the results achieved during program implementation, ensuring that systems and procedures are appropriately applied and enhanced as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst on Youth will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: collaborating with government counterparts, NGOs, and other partners to design and implement the country program and its component projects, ensuring alignment with government priorities and UNFPA policies; establishing and implementing appropriate monitoring and oversight mechanisms; analyzing and interpreting the political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA activities; preparing briefs and inputs for policy dialogue and technical assistance coordination; assessing the implications of new policy developments on program execution; establishing collaborative relationships with executing agencies and other UN agencies; implementing knowledge management strategies to capture lessons learned and best practices; supporting the advocacy and resource mobilization strategy by preparing relevant documentation and participating in meetings and public events.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in health, education, population, youth, demography, or a related social science discipline. Additionally, two years of professional experience in development and population activities is required, with a focus on program/project management. Practical experience in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects is essential, along with proficiency in using office software packages and web-based management systems. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to UNFPA's mission and values, including integrity, cultural diversity, and adaptability to change.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in a relevant field such as health, education, population, youth, demography, or other related social sciences is required for this position. Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role with a fixed-term contract lasting one year, which is renewable based on performance and organizational needs. The position is non-rotational, meaning that the successful candidate will remain in the same location for the duration of their contract. The compensation package includes a competitive net salary, cost of living adjustment, rental subsidy, education grant, home leave, health insurance, and other applicable benefits.
