Job Overview: The Driver and Protocol Clerk position at UN Women Haiti involves providing reliable and safe driving services to the Head of Office and other UN officials and visitors. The incumbent will also perform various administrative and protocol-related tasks, ensuring high-quality work and a client-oriented approach. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reliable and secure driving services, including transporting UN Women representatives and officials, delivering mail and documents, and assisting with airport formalities.
Ensure proper vehicle usage by maintaining accurate logs of trips, fuel purchases, and vehicle maintenance records.
Conduct routine maintenance checks on the assigned vehicle, ensuring it remains in safe running condition and addressing any issues promptly.
Maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely renewals.
Provide general administrative and logistical support in accordance with UN Women policies, including assisting with protocol arrangements and maintaining records.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and completion of secondary education. Defensive driving certification is considered an asset. The role requires excellent driving skills, knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and the ability to maintain accurate vehicle logs. Strong record-keeping and documentation skills are essential, along with basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Educational Background: A secondary education is required for this position. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license, and having a defensive driving certification is advantageous.
Experience: Applicants should have at least three years of relevant experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system, with a proven safe driving record. Experience in administrative, logistical, and protocol support services is required, along with demonstrated experience in maintaining accurate vehicle and fuel logs. Familiarity with government partners is desirable, and proficiency in using office software packages is necessary.
Languages: Fluency in French and Creole is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as English, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable.
