Job Overview: The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the WE RISE Together initiative, which is part of a broader effort to enhance gender-responsive procurement in the Mekong sub-region. This four-year project aims to empower women-owned businesses and gender-responsive enterprises by increasing their access to procurement opportunities. The intern will assist in various program activities, including data collection, event organization, translation support, and communication outreach. The position requires a proactive and energetic individual who can work under the supervision of the Programme Analyst and contribute to the overall goals of UN Women in Thailand. The intern will gain valuable experience in program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and gender equality advocacy.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will include systematic data collection and management related to program activities, participants, and outputs. They will maintain and update databases, compile information from workshops and meetings, and assist in preparing various documents such as summaries and reports. The intern will also support the planning and coordination of events, including the 2026 Thailand WEPs Awards, by managing logistics, participant registration, and communication with stakeholders. Additionally, the intern will provide translation support for documents and assist in drafting communication materials for outreach activities. They will document meetings and events, ensuring that key highlights and success stories are captured for internal and external communication purposes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and strong communication skills in both English and Thai. They should demonstrate a commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment, as well as the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential. The intern should also have strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with a willingness to take initiative and contribute substantively to the team's efforts.
Educational Background: Applicants should be pursuing university studies in disciplines such as gender studies, development studies, international affairs, economics, business administration, or supply chain management. Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, be part of a mandatory national service program, or have recently graduated with a relevant degree within the last two years.
Experience: The position is suitable for candidates who are either currently enrolled in a relevant academic program or have recently graduated. Previous experience in program support, data management, or event coordination is advantageous but not mandatory. The intern should be prepared to work in a multicultural environment and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
Languages: Fluency in English and Thai is required, with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the organization's goals.
Additional Notes: This internship is designed to provide valuable experience in the field of gender equality and women's empowerment. Interns who do not receive financial support from other sources will receive a stipend from UN Women to help cover basic living costs during the internship.
