Job Overview: The Investment Analyst position within the IFC's Transaction Advisory Services Department is a critical role that supports the West Africa PPP hub located in Dakar, Senegal. This hub encompasses 16 countries, including Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana, among others. The primary function of the Investment Analyst is to assist in the origination, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and bidding processes for infrastructure projects. The analyst will work closely with team leaders and project teams to ensure successful execution of mandates and contribute to business development efforts. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and engaging with stakeholders, including government clients and investors. The Investment Analyst will also be responsible for preparing documentation, conducting financial analyses, and coordinating with various departments within the IFC to deliver comprehensive solutions that achieve sustainable development impact.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Investment Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: contributing to origination and marketing activities by preparing pitch books and proposals; preparing memos and documentation for internal approval and consultant procurement processes; performing analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis and modeling; assisting in due diligence management and preparing transaction structuring reports; reviewing legal, commercial, and technical outputs; preparing information memoranda and tender documentation; marketing to potential investors and conducting competitive international tenders; coordinating with other IFC departments to provide tailored solutions; participating in meetings with government clients and investors; and assisting in research and reporting activities as needed. This role demands a high level of collaboration and communication, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Investment Analyst position must possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a reputable university. Additionally, a minimum of two years of relevant experience in project finance, corporate finance, M&A, privatizations, or private equity funds in infrastructure is required. Strong financial modeling skills are essential, along with analytical and conceptual abilities to communicate ideas clearly and confidently. Good presentation skills, both written and oral, are necessary, as well as a willingness to travel frequently on short notice.
