Job Overview:
The PSEA and SH Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting UN Women’s mission by providing technical guidance and support on policies and procedures related to the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and sexual harassment (SH). This position involves acting as a focal point for internal and UN system-wide taskforces, building relationships across the organization, and liaising with UN agencies and stakeholders. The Specialist will also contribute to the implementation of risk assessment and mitigation processes, develop annual work plans, and facilitate training and awareness-raising initiatives. The role requires a strong commitment to a victim/survivor-centered approach and the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive organizational culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the PSEA and SH Specialist include providing technical guidance on UN Women policies regarding SEA and SH, acting as a liaison for taskforces, supporting the implementation of organizational policies, conducting risk assessments, developing work plans, and facilitating capacity-building workshops. The Specialist will also be responsible for awareness-raising efforts, training development, and conducting evaluations or research activities. Additionally, the role involves preparing reports, managing a community of practice, and promoting knowledge exchange among in-country focal points. The Specialist will contribute to creating a diverse and empowered workforce and advancing an inclusive culture within UN Women.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to UN Women’s mission and values, possess strong cultural sensitivity, and have the ability to produce accurate outputs with attention to detail. They should be capable of managing complexities and shifting priorities effectively, while maintaining constructive relationships with clients and partners. Knowledge of SEA and SH prevention principles and the ability to adhere to deadlines are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in human rights, law, development studies, gender studies, social sciences, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in addressing sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, or sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Experience in policy development and reporting within the UN system or an international organization is essential. Additionally, experience in interactive training approaches and conducting workshops is required, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience at the global level.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of another official United Nations language (such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable and considered an asset.
