Job Overview: The Senior Data Sales Associate will play a crucial role within the Business Development Unit (BDU) of the Revenue and Product Management Section at ICAO. This position is primarily focused on driving revenue generation through the sales of ICAO's data products, which include APIs, ICEC APIs, and the iCADS data products suite. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing sales campaigns aimed at meeting revenue targets, engaging in business development activities, and networking with clients globally. The role requires a strong understanding of business-to-business sales, particularly in the context of international markets and the aviation sector. The Senior Data Sales Associate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including marketing teams and regional offices, to enhance product visibility and sales opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Project Lead – ICAO Data Products: Develop and implement sales campaigns targeting revenue generation for products such as Data Plus, WASA, APIs, and the ICAO Carbon Emissions Calculator. Assist in the management and development of data products, contributing to lessons learned at the end of each budget cycle.
Business Development, Networking, and Closing: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of sales leads, utilizing various techniques including in-person meetings, webinars, and industry tradeshows. Collaborate with the marketing unit to support business development initiatives and ensure accurate listing of data products on the ICAO Online Store.
Collaboration with Resellers and Regional Offices: Engage with RPM Regional Office Focal Points to ensure awareness of ICAO data products. Seek opportunities with resellers and conduct training meetings to enhance their ability to discuss ICAO data products effectively.
CRM Management, Financial/Contracts, and Electronic Data Tools: Utilize CRM tools like Microsoft Dynamics 365 to manage customer information and sales reports. Create invoices, manage client communications, and develop standardized legal agreements for data products.
Data Products Operations and Client Support: Address customer queries related to various data products, manage onboarding processes, and follow up on custom report requests. Oversee pricing strategies and maintain the data product website.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the BDU and ICAO.
Required Qualifications: Essential qualifications include a Master's degree in Business or a related field, along with a minimum of ten years of experience in a business development role with a proven track record of revenue generation. Candidates should possess knowledge of international markets, particularly in the aviation sector, and experience in selling aviation data products. High interpersonal skills are essential for adapting to customer requirements effectively. Desirable qualifications include experience in tradeshow environments, training, and workshops, as well as project management skills and proficiency in navigating digital environments.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Business or a related field. Additional desirable qualifications include IT, Network, and Data courses or certificates, as well as Sales and Marketing-related courses that can enhance the candidate's ability to perform in this role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of ten years of professional experience in a business development role, specifically with a focus on revenue generation and growth. Candidates should have a strong understanding of international markets and experience in the aviation sector, particularly in selling aviation data products. The ability to adapt to customer needs and a high level of interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this role.
Languages: Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is essential for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of other languages recognized by the Organization, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Additional Notes: This consultancy position is structured on an annual renewal basis, contingent upon performance and budget availability. It does not include paid vacation, insurance, or pension benefits, and consultants will not be compensated for vacation days, sick days, or national holidays. The compensation for this role is provided at a monthly rate ranging from CAD 5,097 to CAD 8,12
The consultant is expected to work full-time on-site at ICAO Headquarters in Montreal, five days a week, with occasional weekend and evening work required to support conferences and events.
