This section is responsible for strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and the promotion and distribution of sellable products that support ICAO's Strategic Objectives. The organization employs a diverse workforce and operates in multiple countries, working closely with various stakeholders to achieve its mission.

Job Overview:
The Global Project Manager position within the Business Development Unit (BDU) of ICAO is crucial for driving revenue generation through the development and sales of products and services. The incumbent will be responsible for networking and performing business development with clients globally, focusing on enhancing partnerships with other UN agencies, intergovernmental institutions, NGOs, and industry associations. This role requires a strong understanding of international business development, as well as the ability to navigate potential conflicts of interest and maintain diplomatic sensitivity. The Global Project Manager will work closely with the BDU team and ICAO stakeholders to ensure that revenue-generating activities align with the organization's strategic objectives, particularly in the areas of events, training, publications, and advertising sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Global Project Manager will have several key responsibilities, including:
  • Project Lead for Regional Events: Assist in planning and executing revenue-generating events, ensuring adherence to administrative instructions and achieving sales targets.
  • Sale of ICAO Products and Services: Collaborate with regional offices to expand markets, promote ICAO products at trade shows, and establish long-term client relationships.
  • Business Development and Networking: Develop a healthy sales funnel by identifying sales targets and managing the sales cycle to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • CRM Management: Utilize CRM tools to capture customer information, generate sales reports, and collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns.
  • Perform other sales and operational duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the BDU.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in business or a related field. Essential qualifications include a minimum of fifteen years of experience in international sales and partnership roles, particularly within multilateral and UN environments. Proven experience in revenue growth, sales cycle management, and event operations is required. Candidates should be self-starters with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to customer needs. Desirable qualifications include experience in tradeshow environments, aviation sales knowledge, and strong organizational skills.

Educational Background:
A first-level university degree in business or a related field is essential for this position. Additional training in sales-based tools such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM and project management is desirable, as it would enhance the candidate's ability to perform effectively in this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of fifteen years of professional experience in international sales and partnership roles, particularly within multilateral and UN environments. Candidates should have a proven track record of revenue growth and experience in managing the sales cycle, including lead generation and closing sales. Experience in event operations and project management is also essential, as is the ability to work independently and exceed targets.

Languages:
Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English and Spanish are essential for this position. A working knowledge of any other language of the Organization, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, or Russian, is considered desirable and would be an asset in this role.

Additional Notes:
This ongoing consultancy position is structured on an annual renewal basis, subject to performance and budget availability. As a consultant, the position does not include paid vacation, insurance, or pension benefits. Compensation is provided at a monthly rate ranging from CAD 5,097 to CAD 8,12
  • The consultant is expected to work full-time and may need to work remotely, with occasional weekend and evening work required to support conferences and events worldwide.
