Its mission is to ensure safe, secure, and sustainable development of civil aviation through cooperation among its member states. The organization has a global presence, with 193 member countries, and employs a diverse workforce dedicated to enhancing the safety and efficiency of international air transport. The intern will work under the supervision of the NGAP program manager and will be involved in various activities related to the preparation and execution of the NGAP Global Summit, workshops, and webinars. This role is designed to provide the intern with hands-on experience in event organization, stakeholder communication, and content management. The intern will also contribute to outreach efforts aimed at promoting NGAP objectives, which include attracting, educating, training, and retaining the next generation of aviation professionals. The position offers a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders and gain insights into the aviation sector's challenges and opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for assisting in the overall preparation of the NGAP Global Summit, which includes coordinating logistics, preparing background materials, and supporting communication efforts. Specific duties include updating and maintaining the NGAP Global Summit website and social media platforms, preparing reports and meeting minutes, drafting correspondences, speeches, and presentations, conducting research on best practices and data related to NGAP initiatives, and contributing to the redesign of ICAO's public website content. Applicants from educational systems without a clear distinction between undergraduate and graduate studies should have completed at least four years of full-time university studies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential, along with excellent communication and research skills. Familiarity with website content management systems and social media platforms is considered an asset, as is practical experience with collaborative documentation tools or work management platforms. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of the aviation sector and the role of ICAO in global aviation governance.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandated, candidates are expected to demonstrate relevant skills through their educational background and any practical experiences they may have had. This could include internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to aviation, public administration, or international relations. The internship is designed to provide practical experience, so a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
