Job Overview: The Regional Industry Manager for Infrastructure, Energy, Mining, Municipal, Water, and Digital (INR) investment activities will play a pivotal role in leading business development, transaction processing, and portfolio management for INR investment activities in the Andean region of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This position will oversee an investment pipeline exceeding $1.5 billion and manage a debt and equity portfolio of approximately $2.1 billion in committed assets. The Regional Industry Manager will report directly to the Regional Industry Director for INR in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, and will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including IFC’s Division Directors, WBG Country Managers, and other relevant departments. The role requires a strategic approach to developing and implementing investment strategies that align with WBG Country Partnership Frameworks and IFC’s country strategies, focusing on high-impact projects that drive sustainable development and innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Regional Industry Manager include leading and managing direct reports, mentoring and developing INR staff, and providing comprehensive HR administrative oversight. The manager will develop strategies for IFC’s INR investment activities in the Andean region, coordinate with various teams to support the implementation of these strategies, and build relationships with clients to understand sector trends. The role involves leading business development efforts, managing client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, and actively managing profitability for the INR business. The manager will also assume the transaction manager role, provide credit and investment guidance, and ensure compliance with IFC’s financial, environmental, and legal requirements. Additionally, the manager will supervise the overall risk of the debt portfolio, manage the equity portfolio, and contribute to the regional leadership team and global sector management teams.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in business, finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in financing or investing in the real sector, particularly in the INR and/or MAS sectors. Proven experience in sourcing and structuring complex investment transactions, developing client relationships, and executing quality investments is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong sense of service to clients, strategic thinking abilities, and a track record of innovative solutions. Knowledge of portfolio management and experience in supervising loans, equities, and guarantees are also required. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are critical, along with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and manage teams.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in business, finance, or an equivalent qualification. This advanced education is crucial for understanding the complexities of investment strategies and financial management within the context of international development and private sector engagement.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in financing or investing in the real sector, particularly within the infrastructure, energy, mining, and municipal sectors.
