Job Overview: The Grant Manager will play a crucial role within the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team, reporting directly to the Grants & Partnership Coordinator. This position requires close collaboration with program and support departments at the coordination level, as well as with base teams. The primary responsibility of the Grant Manager is to ensure accountability to donors throughout the grant cycle. This includes overseeing the compilation of high-quality proposals, reports, and contract modification requests for submission to donors and consortium partners. The Grant Manager will also monitor compliance with donor procedures, build capacity among staff regarding internal accountability tools, and proactively manage donor contractual obligations. Additionally, the role involves centralizing documentation for external audits and contributing to the strategic development of the mission by identifying funding opportunities aligned with SI's country and global strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grant Manager's duties include overseeing the preparation of timely and high-quality proposals and reports, ensuring compliance with donor procedures, and building the capacity of staff on accountability tools. The role requires proactive management of donor contractual obligations, from contracting to closing and archiving. Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as humanitarian response, international cooperation, or development studies. A first experience working with an international non-governmental organization (INGO) in a grant position is required, while experience with Solidarités International is desirable. Additional experience in capacity building or partnership management, as well as familiarity with the context of Sudan, will be appreciated.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field, such as humanitarian response, international cooperation, or development studies. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of grant management and the humanitarian context in which SI operates.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have prior experience working in a grant management role within an INGO. The role is based in N'Djamena, Chad, and involves living in shared accommodation with access to electricity and internet. The salary for this position starts from 2310 EUR gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of 750 USD is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of breaks during the assignment, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked.
