Job Overview:
The Partnerships Consultant position is crucial for driving WFP's effective positioning with public, private, and external partners. The role involves attracting policy support, resources, technical assistance, and innovative solutions to advance WFP's work while supporting member states in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Zero Hunger. The consultant will work independently across assigned areas, utilizing technical knowledge and experience to analyze data and identify solutions for partnership activities. This position requires collaboration with various functional units and regional offices to develop content that aligns with ongoing policy dialogues. The consultant will also support the preparation of joint events and ensure partner visibility while facilitating corporate dialogue with partners. The role is integral to maximizing resources and leveraging policy and technical support for WFP's initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnerships Consultant will lead the implementation of a work plan for an assigned area, enabling WFP to identify, develop, and strengthen quality partnerships in support of strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include engaging with functional units and regional offices, supporting partner engagement alignment, managing a partnerships portfolio, ensuring partner visibility, and preparing quality briefing materials and reports. The consultant will gather and share partner intelligence, support partnership growth, contribute to the preparation of partnership proposals and strategic agreements, and use socio-political insights to influence policy agendas. Additionally, the consultant will monitor defined risks, provide technical recommendations, and ensure gender perspectives are incorporated into all areas of work. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of experience in partnership roles, demonstrating a good understanding of government and corporate strategies. They should have experience in developing multi-stakeholder partnerships, exploring new opportunities, and providing inputs for designing solutions with prospective partners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing long-term partner relationships, managing resource mobilization processes, and negotiating contract terms. Familiarity with technology and digital tools for data collection and analysis is essential, as is the ability to motivate team spirit and contribute to an inclusive working environment.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be accepted.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience in partnership roles, with a focus on developing and managing partnerships across various sectors and geographies. Experience in resource mobilization and contract negotiation is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English (level C) is mandatory, while intermediate knowledge of French (level B/C) is considered an asset for this position.
