Job Overview:
The Finance Manager position is crucial for ensuring a robust financial structure within the NRC's country office in Chad. This role is designed to support program implementation and other organizational functions by providing optimal financial management. The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and the allocation of resources to various projects. The position requires a proactive approach to budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis, ensuring that all financial activities align with NRC's organizational standards and donor regulations. The Finance Manager will also play a key role in capacity building within the finance team, ensuring that all staff are well-trained in financial procedures and donor regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Manager will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: updating the Master Budget regularly to reflect current funding needs, preparing budgets for new proposals while adhering to donor regulations, and compiling finance reports for donors. The role also involves conducting financial analysis, such as preparing monthly budget versus actual reports for all projects and providing financial advice to budget holders. Additionally, the Finance Manager will ensure timely monthly accounting closures, manage cash flow, and oversee the preparation of supporting documentation for audits. Leading annual audits and providing training on financial procedures to staff across all offices are also key responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of experience in a senior finance role with managerial responsibilities, particularly in a humanitarian or recovery context. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Proficiency in both English and French, both written and verbal, is essential. Candidates should have solid knowledge of modern accounting systems and computer software, as well as experience in risk management and remote management. Previous experience in the region is preferred, and candidates should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.

Educational Background:
The position requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in finance or accounting are advantageous but not mandatory. Continuous professional development in financial management and humanitarian principles is encouraged.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least three years of relevant experience in a senior finance role, particularly within humanitarian or recovery contexts. Experience in managing financial operations in challenging environments is highly valued, as is familiarity with donor regulations and compliance requirements. Previous experience in the region or with similar organizations will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and French is mandatory for this position, as both languages are essential for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders. Additional language skills relevant to the region may be considered an advantage but are not required.

This position is based in N'Djamena, Chad, and is offered as a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on funding and performance.
