Job Overview:
The Software Engineer position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit. This unit is instrumental in enabling the organization to fulfill its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity through the delivery of transformative digital solutions. The Software Engineer will be responsible for building and deploying ethical, secure, and production-grade Agentic AI applications. This role requires close collaboration with various teams, including product teams, data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and other stakeholders, to ensure that AI systems are effectively integrated into project workflows. The engineer will focus on enhancing operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across key sectors such as Water, Energy, Transport, Health, and Education. By embedding responsible AI capabilities into daily operations, the Software Engineer will contribute to safer, faster, and more informed decision-making processes across the Bank's global development initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer will undertake a variety of duties and responsibilities, including: designing and governing the technical architecture for K360 solutions, ensuring security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, scalability, and optimization for rapid delivery; translating business and functional requirements into clear architectural patterns; leading the technical design of AI-driven applications, including the integration of Generative AI capabilities; establishing architectural guardrails and best practices for AI Acceleration solutions; ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards; collaborating with software engineers, platform engineers, and product teams to provide technical guidance; identifying and evaluating new technologies and AI frameworks; overseeing the integration of AI components within low code or pro code environments; supporting performance, reliability, and scalability engineering; developing reusable templates and architectural blueprints; driving technical decision-making throughout the solution lifecycle; providing mentorship and technical leadership to engineering teams; and contributing to Agile ceremonies as a senior technical voice.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and have hands-on experience integrating modern AI capabilities into software solutions. A strong passion for innovation and a commitment to staying current on emerging AI technologies and engineering practices are essential. Candidates should also exhibit a high level of personal ownership and accountability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality outcomes.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant STEM field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field with additional years of experience. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of software engineering and AI integration.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 5 years for candidates with a Master's degree or at least 7 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. This experience should include a demonstrated track record of integrating AI capabilities into software solutions and a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices.

Languages:
