Job Overview:
In this apprenticeship role, you will assist the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team in developing, implementing, and disseminating the strategy for the France mission. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring the context and political analysis, contributing to the deployment of the France mission strategy, participating in national communication and advocacy actions, and supporting field bases in their advocacy efforts. Under the supervision of the Country Director and in collaboration with field coordinators, you will ensure legal and political monitoring related to the strategic axes of the mission and disseminate this information within the mission. You will also be involved in updating strategic documents and may participate in creating tools, writing project proposals and reports, and engaging in priority cross-cutting projects. Additionally, you will assist in defining and implementing communication support and tools, as well as joint advocacy initiatives at the national level, which may include attending external events and meetings and drafting reports on these activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the context and conduct political analysis, ensuring the dissemination of relevant information within the mission.
  • Produce synthesis notes and analyses as requested for distribution to the France mission team.
  • Contribute to the deployment of the France mission strategy by updating strategic documents and participating in the creation of tools and writing project proposals and reports.
  • Assist in national communication and advocacy actions by supporting the Country Director and coordination team in defining and implementing communication tools and joint advocacy initiatives.
  • Participate in external events and meetings, providing written reports on these engagements.
  • Support field bases in their advocacy efforts, including conducting surveys and activities related to advocacy initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications:
We are looking for a candidate who shares our commitment and possesses the following qualities: You are currently pursuing a Master's degree (level I or II), preferably in political science, international relations, humanitarian development, law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, public or European affairs, or advocacy. Professional experience in research, within a ministry, local authority, NGO, or with a parliamentarian is a significant asset. You demonstrate a strong interest in the activities and principles upheld by the France mission. You possess solid analytical and synthesis skills, excellent written French proficiency, and strong interpersonal skills that combine diplomacy and persuasive ability, along with oral communication ease. You also exhibit responsiveness, rigor, flexibility, and unwavering motivation.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be pursuing a Master's degree (level I or II) in relevant fields such as political science, international relations, humanitarian development, international law, public affairs, or advocacy. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of the role and the mission's objectives.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some level of professional experience, ideally in research or within organizations such as ministries, local authorities, NGOs, or parliamentary offices. This experience will provide valuable insights into the workings of advocacy and humanitarian efforts, which are crucial for the role.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the regions where Action contre la Faim operates or to the populations they serve.

Additional Notes:
This is an apprenticeship contract lasting 12 months, with a desired rhythm of 3 days in the office and 2 days of study. The position is based in Montreuil, France. Salary is based on the legal minimum, adjusted according to age and educational level, spread over 13 months. Employees are entitled to 21 days of RTT (reduction of working time) prorated based on presence, and 25 days of paid leave also prorated. Health coverage is provided at 80% by Action contre la Faim, and transportation costs are reimbursed at 50% for travel between home and work. Meal vouchers are partially covered by the organization, and there are additional social benefits. The role may involve prolonged sitting, oral communication, screen work, phone contacts, and occasional travel within the Île-de-France region.
