Job Overview: The Monitoring and Reporting Associate will play a crucial role in supporting UN Women's initiatives in Lebanon, particularly in the context of the GPPL program. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the political landscape in Lebanon, as well as proven experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection. The Associate will be responsible for integrating monitoring and reporting into program formulation, tracking strategic plan targets, and reporting results to both internal and external audiences. The role involves providing technical inputs for program development, supporting monitoring and tracking of results against targets, and assisting in the implementation of research activities. The Associate will also engage in inter-agency coordination and gender mainstreaming efforts, ensuring that gender equality is prioritized in national response plans and advocacy forums.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical inputs to program formulation, ensuring that monitoring and reporting are incorporated effectively. This includes developing monitoring indicators, calendars, and quality assurance processes, as well as drafting sections of concept notes and donor reports.
Support the monitoring and tracking of results against country and regional targets, coordinating data collection and analysis from field visits, and providing inputs for management briefs.
Assist in the implementation of research activities under the GPPL program, contributing to the development of the research agenda and ensuring cultural relevance in data collection.
Engage in inter-agency coordination, supporting UN Women’s participation in task forces and advocacy forums, and mainstreaming gender in national response plans.
Provide administrative support for resource mobilization, organizing information from donors and coordinating logistical support for events.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, research, or coordination. Candidates should have experience in a computer environment using multiple office software packages, as well as in research, tool design, statistics, data collection, and analysis. Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders and liaising with government agencies or donors is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and report writing skills, along with proficiency in data management and monitoring tools.
Educational Background: Completion of secondary education is required, while a Bachelor’s degree in human rights, gender studies, international relations, international development, law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, or other social science fields is desirable. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of gender issues and the socio-political context in which UN Women operates.
Experience: Candidates must have at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in relevant fields such as Monitoring and Evaluation, research, or coordination. This experience should include working in environments that require the use of various office software packages and tools for data collection and analysis. Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders and organizing events is also beneficial, particularly in contexts involving government agencies and donor relations.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is required for this position, as effective communication in both languages is essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of French is considered desirable, as it may enhance collaboration with French-speaking partners and stakeholders.
