Job Overview:
The Software Test Engineer position at EBRD is a critical role that involves reporting to the Principal, Capability Quality Lead. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the successful delivery of test design and execution activities on EBRD enterprise platform programs. This includes managing test status and defect reporting across multiple Agile and non-Agile projects. The incumbent will be expected to engage with key stakeholders, providing them with accurate, targeted, and timely information regarding testing activities. The role requires a proactive approach to managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring that Quality Assurance (QA) targets are met across all assigned testing projects. The Software Test Engineer will also be responsible for designing and executing test cases in accordance with ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 test standards, ensuring that all testing processes align with established quality benchmarks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Software Test Engineer include:
  • Designing and executing test cases across multiple assigned projects and programs, adhering to ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 test standards.
  • Accurately and timely reporting testing and defect status to the project leadership team using EBRD test reporting templates.
  • Peer-reviewing and approving test plans and test cases to ensure alignment with appropriate standards.
  • Supporting the QA function by ensuring that QA targets are met across all assigned testing projects through effective delivery and status reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with other IT Services functions and customers to expedite the delivery of IT testing solutions.
  • Collaborating with the Principal Capability Quality Lead to proactively manage stakeholders, ensuring they understand the testing process and performance in their functions.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Software Test Engineer position include:
  • Proven experience in designing and executing software test cases and reporting on testing and defect status to project leadership.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the banking and/or finance sector is essential.
  • A good understanding of treasury, payments, commercial lending, and financial transactions is preferred.
  • Experience with the Finastra Summit treasury trading application is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in writing and executing test automation scripts is required.
  • Familiarity with test tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Playwright, and RightClick TMS is looked upon favourably.
  • Experience using Jira Agile management tool is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Attainment of the ISTQB foundation testing certification or equivalent such as ASTQB or ISEB is required.

Educational Background:
The educational background needed for the Software Test Engineer position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering. While a degree is desirable, it is not strictly essential, indicating that relevant experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for the Software Test Engineer position is at least 2 years within the banking and/or finance sector. Candidates should have a solid background in software testing, particularly in environments that require adherence to strict quality standards and processes. Experience in Agile methodologies and familiarity with financial systems will be beneficial for this role.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which EBRD operates, but they are not explicitly required for the role.

This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to attend the office 50% of their working time.
