Job Overview:
The Principal position is a critical role within the EBRD's Operations & Service Management division, responsible for managing a team that interfaces directly with Treasury teams. This role encompasses the oversight of funding and the timely settlement and management of the EBRD’s Banking and Treasury products across global markets. The Principal will act as a subject matter expert in Trade Support, Treasury Settlements, and Collateral Operations processes. The individual will engage with various functions, including Treasury, Cash Management, and Payments, and will be involved in complex operational tasks, contributing to projects that may require testing and adjustments to processes. The Principal will also play a key role in training and developing less experienced team members and will represent the team in communications with other financial institutions regarding treasury-related matters. A continuous improvement mindset is essential, as the Principal will support initiatives aimed at enhancing team performance and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal will manage the operational delivery of the team, ensuring a proactive approach to service performance and delivery. Responsibilities include identifying resource shortfalls, monitoring team health, and maintaining service standards. The Principal will support a culture of quality output, manage risks through established frameworks, and liaise with auditors. They will oversee the training of new colleagues, provide expertise in products and processes, and lead interdepartmental projects. Continuous improvement efforts will be a focus, with the Principal supporting the operationalization of best practices and efficiencies. The role also involves stakeholder management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments, and leading the team in achieving high performance and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent work experience, with a comprehensive understanding of treasury and banking products. Experience in transforming teams using continuous improvement techniques is preferred. The ability to identify opportunities for business value and process improvement is essential. Candidates should have excellent communication skills in English, strong management and interpersonal skills, and experience in mentoring and supervising teams. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively are also required.

Educational Background:
A university degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Candidates should have a strong foundation in financial principles and practices, particularly in relation to treasury and banking operations.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in treasury and banking operations, with a focus on managing teams and delivering operational performance. Candidates should have a proven track record of handling complex operational challenges and implementing process improvements. Experience in a financial institution or similar environment is highly desirable, along with a demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the EBRD's operational regions.
