Job Overview:
The Principal, Manager position is a pivotal role within the Green Partnerships team of the EBRD, specifically within the Donor Partnerships department. This role is focused on advancing nature finance, particularly in relation to blue economy objectives. The Principal, Manager will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, aligning donor and partner priorities with the Bank's strategic climate and environmental initiatives, leading fundraising efforts, and coordinating activities under the Clean and Healthy Ocean Integrated Program (CHO-IP) and the Blue Mediterranean Partnership (BMP). This position requires a strategic mindset to manage a portfolio of donor resources effectively and support various teams in deploying concessional finance to achieve the EBRD's green economy objectives. The role is essential in ensuring that the Bank meets its ambitious target of achieving a green finance ratio of over 50% of its annual investments by 2025, as outlined in its Strategic and Capital Framework (SCF) 2021 – 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal, Manager will be responsible for a range of duties including: coordinating activities under the CHO-IP and BMP to ensure alignment; developing and structuring concepts and funding proposals for blue economy initiatives; identifying funding opportunities and managing key donor relationships; engaging with donors to influence priorities and scope fundraising opportunities; fostering partnerships with other development finance institutions (DFIs) and international development agencies; managing a portfolio of donor resources and aligning them with the Bank's strategies; supporting teams in deploying donor funds and securing necessary approvals for projects; coordinating the drafting and negotiation of term sheets and contribution agreements; ensuring compliance with donor requirements; and anticipating and addressing funding needs across the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in economics, finance, international development, environmental and social sciences, or a related discipline. They should have substantial experience in developing and managing climate and nature finance programs and portfolios. A strong understanding of financial products and banking transactions related to climate and environmental issues is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in identifying and designing innovative concessional finance instruments and business models, as well as managing donor relationships and creating effective fundraising strategies. The ability to think strategically and creatively to drive change and expand the EBRD's offerings is crucial, along with excellent project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills are also necessary for effective collaboration across departments.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, international development, environmental and social sciences, or a closely related discipline.
