Job Overview: The Principal, Audit Manager (IT) is responsible for leading and coordinating various audit activities, including assurance, advisory, and change audits across multiple business functions. This role requires strong influencing, communication, and relationship-building skills to secure stakeholder engagement and ensure effective audit delivery. The Principal will convey complex audit issues clearly to diverse and senior audiences, fostering constructive relationships that enable open dialogue and collaboration. The focus of this role includes audits related to the EBRD’s Transformation Group and Chief Transformation Office, covering IT applications, infrastructure platforms, project assurance, business resilience, physical security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, information security, and third-party risk management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Principal, Audit Manager (IT) will continuously monitor and assess organizational, risk, and control developments within their assigned portfolio. They will independently plan and execute audit engagements with minimal supervision, ensuring adherence to the quality standards expected by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). The role involves supervising multi-disciplinary teams, guest auditors, and external consultants, providing timely feedback and ensuring accountability for all aspects of the audit process. The Principal will develop and manage constructive working relationships with stakeholders, deliver engagements in line with IIA standards, and support departmental initiatives, including developing annual work plans and regular reporting to the Board of Directors. They will also stay updated on industry developments to inform audit coverage and drive improvements in audit practices.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent, preferably in technology, data, mathematics, finance, or business. Relevant professional qualifications in IT auditing, IT security, or IT risk management, such as CISA, CCSK, CISSP, CISM, or ISO27001LA, are essential. Additional certifications in project and programme assurance and data analytics are desirable. Candidates should have demonstrable experience leading internal audit engagements in complex financial services or investment banking environments, with a proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes in sensitive situations.
Educational Background: A university degree or equivalent qualification is required, with a focus on technology, data, mathematics, finance, or business. Professional certifications related to IT auditing and risk management are also necessary, demonstrating a solid academic foundation in relevant fields.
Experience: Candidates should have significant experience in leading or managing internal audit engagements, particularly in complex financial services or investment banking settings. This includes supervising teams and delivering high-quality risk-based audit work. Post-qualification experience in IT auditing and/or IT risk management is essential, along with familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF and Swift CSCF. The ability to quickly understand new technologies and processes is also important.
Languages: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory, with the ability to articulate complex audit issues clearly to diverse audiences.
